In addition to the tallest building in the area, there is also a “gun tower" that can defend against foreign enemies.

到金門沒來到「得月樓」，可以說是沒有來過金門，因為金門最全島最精美也最具代表性的古洋樓，就是位在水頭聚落的得月樓，此樓除了是當地最高的建築外，也是具備防禦外敵功能的「銃樓」。

The person who built the Deyue Tower was Huang Huihuang of the Huang family. He crossed the sea to Indonesia in the early years of the Republic of China to engage in department store wholesale. After he became rich, he commissioned the Nanan craftsman Chen Nanan to build Deyue Tower. Deyue Tower is 11.26 meters high, with a wall thickness of 40 cm. The interior has a basement floor and 4 floors above ground, totaling 5 floors. The 4 floors above ground are supported by fir trees to support the main structure and covered with red bricks. There is a solid staircase inside. It can lead to all floors. After its completion, it is named Deyue Tower after the high-rise building can “get the moon near the water platform".

建得月樓的人是黃氏家族的黃輝煌，他於民國初年渡海到印尼從事百貨批發，致富後，委由福建南安匠師陳南安承建得月樓。得月樓高11.26公尺，牆厚40公分，內部為地下一層、地上4層，共5層空間；地上4層是以杉木撐住主體結構，再舖上紅磚，內部有一座堅實的樓梯可以通往各樓層，落成後，以高樓能「近水樓台先得月」之意境，命名為得月樓。

The “Huang" family is closely related to the Shuitou tribe. His ancestor Huang Shougong was in Quanzhou because of the miracle of mulberry trees giving birth to lotus flowers, so he lived and built a temple. The building hall is often covered with purple clouds. With the name “Ziyun Yanpai", this legend is very popular.

「黃」氏家族與水頭部落關係密切，其先祖黃守恭在泉州因感桑樹生蓮花的奇蹟，遂捨宅建寺，建築大殿時常有紫雲覆蓋，後歷代子孫科甲聯芳，金門黃姓家族即以「紫雲衍派」為堂號，這個傳說非常膾炙人口。
