I made a spontaneous arrangement for a trip to the Taiwan Hakka Museum located in Miaoli.
Coco really loves Taiwanese culture. The main reasons are to learn about Taiwanese architecture and to discover the culture of the past through historical artifacts.
臨時安排了一個行程，這是位於苗栗的臺灣客家文化館。對於台灣文化，可可是非常喜歡的，最主要是可以認識台灣建築，也可以從過去的文物中，找尋到當時的文化。

Coming to the park, the most eye-catching feature is the huge purple geometric landmark pillar at the entrance, backed by the white geometric steel skyway that feels highly modern. This collision between modern architectural aesthetics and traditional culture makes people eager to step inside and explore.
來到園區，最吸睛的就是大門口那座巨大的紫色幾何地標柱，後方襯著極具現代感的白色幾何鋼骨空橋，現代建築美學與傳統文化的碰撞，讓人迫不及待想走進去參觀。

Walking up the beautiful translucent skyway to enter the museum, the sunlight filtering through the glass curtain wall feels incredibly comfortable. Huge posters of recent special exhibitions hang on both sides of the corridor, such as the 3D video introduction of the “Hakka Theater," making visitors feel the park’s vibrant energy and abundant activities.
走上那座美麗的半透明空中廊道準備入館，陽光從玻璃帷幕灑落下來非常舒服。走廊兩側懸掛著近期的特展巨幅海報，像是「好客劇場」的3D影片介紹，讓人感受到園區滿滿的活力與豐富的活動。

Following the route forward, you will arrive at the “Fairy Tale Secret Base," which is perfect for family fun. The entrance is decorated colorfully like a fairy tale forest, with a cute leopard cat mascot standing guard at the door. Inside, there are many interactive mini-games that allow children to easily learn about Hakka culture while having fun.
順著動線前進，會來到非常適合親子同樂的「童話秘密基地」。門口裝飾得像童話森林一樣繽紛，還有可愛的石虎公仔在門口站崗，裡面有好多互動式小遊戲，讓小朋友在玩樂中也能輕鬆認識客家文化。

Next, entering the core exhibition area, exquisite bilingual graphic display boards and interactive exhibits guide everyone to reflect on and explore the formation of the term “Hakka," multiple perspectives, and the historical context of the Hakka people’s migration from the Central Plains to the south. Traditional Hakka blue shirts are also displayed inside the showcase, making it highly educational.
接著進入核心展區，這裡用非常精緻的雙語圖文看板與互動展示，帶大家思索與探討「客家」這個詞彙的形成、多元觀點，以及客家族群從中原到南方遷徙的歷史脈絡，櫥窗內還展示了傳統的客家藍衫，非常有教育意義。

In addition to Taiwan, the Hakka people are actually spread all over the world! This area showcases the Hakka culture and lifestyles from various parts of the globe, including Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Tahiti. Clocks and interactive lettering boards for daily Hakka vocabulary (such as greetings and thank-you phrases) hang on the wall, allowing visitors to read and recite along, which is very interesting!
除了台灣，客家族群其實遍布全球！這一區展示了台灣、馬來西亞、印尼、大溪地等世界各地的客家文化與生活樣貌，牆上還掛著時鐘與日常客家語的互動字版（像是問候語、謝謝等），可以邊看邊跟著念，非常有趣！

This wall displays the great wisdom of Hakka ancestors. In the past when materials were scarce, people made good use of “bamboo" gifted by nature. From bamboo leaves, side branches, and culms to roots, everything could be processed into packaging, cooking ingredients, toys, or daily household utensils, thoroughly putting the spirit of green sustainability into practice.
這一面牆展示了客家先輩們的大智慧。過去物資簡陋，人們善用大自然賜予的「竹子」，從竹葉、側枝、竹稈到竹根，全部都能加工製成包裝、烹飪食材、童玩或日常生活器具，徹底落實了綠色永續的精神。

Literature is the soul of a culture. Here stands a spectacular wall of books introducing important writers in the history of Taiwanese Hakka literature in detail, including Li Qiao, Zhong Lihe, Zhong Zhaozheng, Wu Zhuoliu, and Long Yingzong. Looking at their biographies and copies of their manuscripts, one can deeply feel the resilience of Hakka literature amidst blood, tears, and the torrent of history.
文學是文化的靈魂。這裡有一整面壯觀的書牆，詳細介紹了台灣客家文學歷史上的重要作家，包含李喬、鍾理和、鍾肇政、吳濁流與龍瑛宗等。看著他們的生平與手稿複製品，能深深感受到客家文學在血淚與歷史洪流中的堅韌。

Walking around makes one a bit hungry! This area features hyper-realistic food models of the most representative classic Hakka dishes (such as Hakka Stir-Fry, Shredded Ginger Braised Large Intestines, Slow-Cooked Dried Bamboo Shoots in Fatty Broth, and Braised Soy Pork). The wall also explains the production processes of pickled mustard greens (Fu-Cai) and salted pork in detail, fully embodying the Hakka philosophy of “making good use of local ingredients" and preserving resources through pickling.
逛著逛著肚子都有些餓了！這一區把客家最具代表性的經典料理（如客家小炒、薑絲炒大腸、肥湯炆筍乾、炆爌肉）做成了超逼真的食物模型。牆上還詳細解說了福菜、鹹豬肉的製作過程，完整體現了客家人「善用在地食材」與醃漬保存的惜物哲學。

At the end of the permanent exhibition, the exhibition area uses 1:1 realistic wax figures to lifelikely recreate past lifestyle interactions inside a traditional Hakka courtyard house. Looking at the scene of two elderly people talking around a large water jar feels like time is turning backward, guiding us to personally experience the simple and warm rural hospitality of former days.
在常設展的尾聲，展區利用一比一擬真的蠟像栩栩如生地重現了過去客家傳統三合院內的生活互動。看著兩位老人家圍著大水缸對話的場景，彷彿時間倒流，帶領我們親身體會昔日樸實、溫暖的農村人情味。

After visiting the rich exhibitions, the last stop must be a good stroll through the cultural and creative products hall! A super adorable leopard cat mascot holding a barrel of citronella oil stands at the shop entrance. The store sells many items like camphor sprays, local tea, and various exquisite Hakka cultural and creative novelties, making them perfect to buy back as travel souvenirs.
參觀完豐富的展覽後，最後一站當然要到文創商品館好好逛逛！店門口有一隻超級萌、抱著香茅油油桶的吉祥物石虎公仔，店內販售了許多樟木噴油、在地茶葉與各式精緻的客家文創小物，非常適合買回去當旅行的紀念。
